Colors by Llarowe Doctor Who Flake collection part One

Hi guys, I hope you're all having a great Monday!
Mine has been really nice. Busy day at work but then I came home and decided to "pimp my nails" with some stamping and that's when all the fun started. My little elves picked out a plate and design for me and so we started... I handled the stamping part (pushed and shoved LOL) and they took care of cleaning out the stamper heads and plate in between nails. The result is FAR from perfect but we had a good laugh and they were really proud! You can see my manicure on my Instagram if you're curious but promise not to make fun of us haha

Anyway, today I have swatches of the latest Colors by Llarowe collection : the Doctor Who Flakes!
The collection consists of 16 clear and tinted base flakies and 2 crellies. I know that's a lot for one post so I'll try and remain as concise as possible ;-)

Formula and application were surprisingly nice in the entire collection. Flakies can sometimes be too thick or too sparse but I found them all well balanced and easy to work with. As for the 2 crellies, Vincent (black) was highly pigmented, almost a one coater, and K-9 (oxblood) was more sheer and required 3-4 coats for sufficient coverage.

Overall :
The Colors by Llarowe Doctor Who Flake is a really fun and versatile collection that offers many layering possibilities. I especially love the tinted bases as well as the extra shimmers and/or glitters that sets them apart from your average clear based flakie toppers.
I can't really comment on the Doctor Who inspiration as I've never watched the series (hides) but I'm sure that all the fans will see that as a plus.
My favorites, in no particular order, are : Madame Vastra, Davros, Face of Boe, Mine is Nine, Ten is Tops, The Eyebrows, The Ood and Weeping Angels. I'm not sure if that's very helpful but I just couldn't leave any of these out.

The Doctor Who Flake collection is part of the Colors by Llarowe core collection.
Individual polishes retail for $6 (crellies) / $9 (flakies) and can be purchased from llarowe.com

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading! I might or might not be back really soon with macro pics and/or some extra layering ideas :D
