Opi Germany collection for Fall Winter 2012 : Part 1

Germany!
After Holland, Touring America, Texas, Swiss, Hong Kong,... This year's OPI regional release is Germany. Without further ado, let's see what the first half of the collection looks like, shall we?

Don't Pretzel my Buttons is  a very light nude with a warm beige tint. I was afraid it would clash with my skintone but it actually is very nice and soft looking. I used 2 coats for complete even coverage but I was very careful with application, i.e. you might need a third one.

My Very First Knockwurst is a pink version of Don't Pretzel my Buttons : warm, nude, creme with a soft touch and a pink, almost lavender, tint. I'm also surprised by how much I like it on me. Formula was also very similar with a 2 to 3 coat coverage. Two careful coats plus topcoat here.

Berlin There Done That is a light warm taupe with a purple hue. It's a tad warmer in real life than it looks here. I'm really loving how delicate it is, perfect for Fall. Formula was pretty much OPI standard, nice and thin with a true 2 coats coverage.

Don't Talk Bach to Me is a very unusual muted chartreuse green with a subtle silver shimmer running through. It definitely is one of those "fugly" colors that the mainstream customers will not be attracted to but I am haha. I also had to use 2 careful coats here.

Schnapps Out of It is a very hard color to describe : burnt orange, almost terracotta with some faded pink, definitely warm and rich and with a fine silver shimmer. It calls for Fall and it's a very nice change after all of the tangerine oranges released this year. Formula was perfect, smooth and even, almost a one coater. I applied two coats for more depth and complete coverage.

Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine! is a very dark grey creme with a very strong green tint. Depending of the lighting, it will look either grey or green but never black. Formula was really nice and required 2 coats for full opacity.

Overall :
I'm really loving this first half of the collection but I couldn't say that I'm crazy about them. They're all beautiful Fall appropriate shade though. If I had to pick a favorite, it would definitely be Schnapps Out of It.

I can't wait to share with you the second half of the collection! Did you pick any of these? How do you fell about them?

  1. I have Nein! and two others that I'm assuming will be in your next post: German-icure by OPI and Every Month Is Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest is my hands down favorite of this collection, followed closely by German-icure. Those two colors seem to just glow. Can't wait to see your pictures! :)

  2. I definitely love the Schnapps Out of It swatch I hope I can get this collection but if I can't, I guess I'll have to wait for the James Bond collection which I'm really looking forward to.

  4. I bought six of these. I was chomping at the bit for this collection. My favourite so far is Every Month is Oktoberfest. I just might be the most unique polish I've ever seen.

  6. Your swatches are so beautiful that I finally think I need at least Berlin There Done That. The others I can pass pretty easily as I either cannot carry them off well or have some pretty similar ones.

  11. I've already ordered 4 nailpolishes out of this collection, but no on of your "part 1" :) These colors are pretty but nothing special for me. The other polishes are quite more interesting I think.

  12. I really love how your photo of Nein! looks almost teal. I skipped that one, but you make me want to go buy it! I'm looking forward to seeing the 2nd half, I picked up Schnapps, Oktoberfest, Deutsch and Germanicure and most of those colors will be in that goup.

  13. Initially I knew I wanted the rusty orange and the red in this collection - then when released and I could place and order I purchased Octoberfest, Suzie and the 7..., as well as Germanicure. Not thrilled with Germanicure - too dark to show all the goodies in it..but I am seriously thinking I need Nein now - the green lean it has is interesting. Someone did a comparison of it to last yrs. ChG Concrete Catwalk which I never bought as I had a lot of dark gray creams that all kind of went to just one more dark shade that is not black which is OK as I don't wear plain black cream - looks horrible on me. But now I am thinking Nein is not like Concrete Catwalk and needs my paws around a bottle of it! The others in this group I don't think I can pull off...they are wrong shades for me.

  14. I got Schnapps Out Of It! and Berlin There Done That and loved them both so much I had to go back and get Every Day Is Oktoberfest, too. I have dozens of grays but Berlin There Done That is now my favorite. I was going to get Nein but it looks so close to Zoya Natty that I didn't bother.

  15. I really like Nein!, I might have to go buy that one. And normally I'm not one for dark vampies, but I think they might be growing on me.
