YSL Contemporary Amazon Collection for Fall 2012

"She moves through Paris as she would an urban jungle, exuding a tailored take on the basics. A matte yet luminous complexion, smoky gold eyes, red lips and garnet lacquers for daring sophistication."

"Jungle" also known as khaki, camouflage and/or murky shades have been hot this Fall and to our great pleasure, YSL is no exception with their Contemporary Amazon collection, that includes 2 limited edition nail lacquers : Rouge Expressioniste and Khaki Arty.

Rouge Expressioniste. Muted blood red creme with a slight brown hue and a retro look. It's such a classic and classy shade, reminiscing of mysterious women in an old hitchcock movie...

Khaki Arty. Warm and yet murky brown. It's too warm to be called taupe and too green based to be called chocolate brown, just somewhere in between. I must confess that I wasn't convinced at first but I ended up loving it on me!

Formula in both of these polishes was utterly fantastic! The new and improved brush (flat, wide and rounded) combined with the most even, thin and yet opaque formula resulted in an epic application and a one coat coverage.
I used 2 coats and topcoat in these swatches, as pictures tend to be less forgiving than real life, but I don't think I could rave enough about these polishes! If I really had to find one little flaw, I would say that they don't dry as shinny as I would have wanted but I wouldn' consider that an issue as I wouldn't skip topcoat anyway...

Overall :
I am in love with both the shades and formula and I can promise you will not be disappointed!
I have a few more "La Laque Couture" to share with you and now I'm really excited to try them ♥

The Yves Saint Laurent Contemporary Amazone Laques are already available online and in beauty counters worlwide and retail for $20 / £18 / 20€ each (0.34 flo .oz / 10ml)
