OPI Black Shattered Accent Manicure

I know a lot of you probably don't do "crackles" or maybe even "glitters" because let's face it we're not in our teens anymore (or maybe you are and then enjoy them!) and they could be easily judged excessive on a daily basis.
Well, as for now, I'm lucky enough to have zero boundaries when it comes to my manicures, that might change in a few month when I'll start my new job, I definitely hope not... But I'm not an extravagant person by nature and sometimes I like to tame all those wild colors or glitters of mine with an accent manicure.
For those of you who don't know what that is, it's just a regular manicure with a different nail polish on one finger only, usually the ring or the thumb.

So here's what I used :

for the full manicure :
  • lllamasqua Boosh, my favorite "one coater" / "super glossy" black nail polish
  • 1 coat of Seche Vite
and for the accent :
  • 1 coat of China Glaze Millenium, a must have fast-drying, brushstrokes free metallic silver
  • 2 coats of Essence Nail Art Twins Glitter Topper in "Romeo and Julia" that I recieved from the best Dutch nail polish lover ever!
  • 1 coat of Opi Black Shatter, I'm so happy I got a back up for this one.
  •  1 coat of Seche Vite

You know Glitters, they only photograph at about 10% of their sparkle but believe me when I say that the Essence Nail Art Twins Topper is crazy packed with round, hex and square holographic glitters!

And as a bonus today, since I've had a crazy week and couldn't post as often as I would have wanted to, I have an extra picture to share with you.
I was swatching the China Glaze Crackle collection and while experimenting with Lightning Bolt, just before moving on to the next crackle I did this design to show my daughter... well because she loves funny nail arts :

That's it for today, I still have a huge amount of swatching to do, I hope I'll have more time this weekend...

Love that accent nail too; I've got "Romeo and Julia" as well and it is definitely a wonderful glitter.

  8. LOVE the accent nail look- I agree, I've been staying away from shatter because it's just too much for a 26 year old in a corporate environment. LOVE.

Cute nail art, by the way!
