China Glaze Tronica Swatches and Review... Part II : the cool tones

Here is the second part of the Tronica Collection review, the 6 cool toned shades, in case you missed the warm ones, you can still check them out here.

Again, the formula was just outstanding and the colors saturated.
In terms of finish, the Tronica are really smooth, in spite of being scattered holos, you won't see tiny chunks like the Milani 3D Holographic Collection for example.
I like to call them my "work-safe" holos : a compromise between linear holos and cremes or shimmers, mysterious and gleaming shades.

So, you probably understood by now that I really love the Tronica Collection, the shades are intense, subtle, sophisticated and yet not overelaborated.
The lighter shades Hologram and Cyberspace are the ones who have the strongest holographic effect, maybe even a slight linear one. Unfortunately I haven't been able to catch a single ray of sunlight while swatching them but it might not be such a bad thing, you can see what they really look like most of the time this way.
I did paint them all on wheel though and I will definitely post more pictures as soon as the sun shows up again.
And for those who are wondering how they compare to the OMGs and Kaleidoscopes, I really wanted to give them a fair review first but comparisons are on their way!

In conclusion, I'll just say that I'm happy I'm not a stubborn person by nature and that I gave the Tronica Collection a chance because as much as I loooove a strong linear holo, sometimes I can also be in the mood for a nice subdued scattered one too.

What about you? What's your opinion on them?

  2. These look very pretty and remind me of Nubar prisms collection. I haven't tried Tronica yet as I have not seen them at my local Sallys but really want to try a couple. I love the pics you have taken xx

  5. I don't own any other halos so I can't really compare. I have several Tronica colors. I have Gamer Glam on right now and that's the only one I've tried so far. At first, I was pretty disappointed, but the longer I wear it, the more I like it. I still wish it had just a pinch more halo to it, but it's quickly becoming my favorite!

  9. Wow, gorgeous nails, swatches and photo's! Your post helped me confirm that I do prefer more intense halo's (NFU OH + OMG) to this more glittery type. Having said that, I do now want to get a few of these, thanks for not being stubborn! :) Unfortunately, I jumped on the bandwagon way too late so I'll have to pay a fortune. Hopefully, they'll look as good on me as they do on you! I wasn't interested in intense glitters, so I missed all the amazing halo's not really paying attention. Next time, I'll give more new things a chance and research before passing on them! As I write this, I'm waiting for "V.Violet" (I'm a sucker for pinks & purples) to arrive and next will hunt down the Magenta. All with thanks to you! What I regret the most is, NFU OH 61 & Chanel(LOVE!) I keep watching 61 go by at $30+! Just can't bring myself to pay that much for one bottle, yet! LOL...^_~...I imagine w/all the "Big Love" for Halo's we'll be seeing more & more, rest assured I won't miss them this time! Again, thank you for your excellent posts. I wouldn't be owning these pretties if it wasn't for you!!!
