MAC Quite Cute Swatches and Review

MAC is playing it fun with its next upcoming collection, Quite Cute, pastels and happy colors! I must say that I was pretty excited about it.

Quite Cute will include 3 new creme nail polishes : Little Girl Type, Ice Cream Cake and Mischievous Mint.
The formula was very nice on these, 2 to 3 thin coats  to reach full opacity, they weren't one bit streaky but actually well pigmented. They dried fast and weren't "thick" on the nail, the downside being the shine, a topcoat is absolutely necessary, not that I'd even consider not wearing topcoat anyway, but you get the point...

What could I possibly add about this collection? I really like the concept and the colors are lovely and cheering but they are so dupable...

I must admit that I didn't bother searching for exact dupes for the mauve and pink, but I was curious about Mischievous Mint, I instantly went for Essie Mint Candy Apple but it was the same shade only one tone lighter, an exact dupe would be Gosh Miss Minty.

MAC Quite Cute will be available on April 7th in the US and in April for the rest of the world.

  1. They look much more appealing actually on the nails than they do in the pics of the bottles. Now I feel tempted by Mischievous Mint.

  3. Those look yummy, but like you said, they seem very dupe-able.

  4. @Justine (Productrater) That's exactly what I thought!!!
Maybe we should start a petition so that they at least personalize the bottles for each LE collection... How nice would that be to have those pastel bottles with little candies on them?

  8. I think I'll pass on this one. You are completely right, they are easily dupable. I must say the name of the collection is spot on, the colors are absolutely cute! And although Mischievous Mint is my favorite (but I have Gosh Miss Minty already), I think I will look for a dupe for Ice cream cake as well. My little daugter (2 yrs) absolutely loves this sweet pink shades. The only thing I regret is that the collection doesn't have a baby blue, but you know me LOL

  10. Thanks for the swatches - I was wondering what these would look like irl! Surprisingly, I really like Ice Cream Cake... if I can't get my hands on it, what do you think would be a good dupe?

  11. @alison*elle I first thought of OPI Shorts Story but Ice Cream Cake is much lighter. I coudn't really recommand an exact dupe but I could imagine Essie Chastity, Sally Hansen Bubble Gum Pink or ELF Bubble Gum Pink being similar.

  12. They do look dupe-able, but I don't have anything in my collection that look like Ice Cream Cake (love the name!) or Little Girl Type. Of course, I feel obligated to get Mischievous Mint to complete the set b/c I'm OCD like that...

  13. They do look quite dupeable, but I guess only lacquerheads would care. I'm sure they will sell out as always! Oh MAC-addicts..
