Nicki Minaj exclusive nail polish collection for OPI

Forget about everything you've heard online, OPI has released official informations on its Facebook.

OPI Partners with Platinum Recording Artist Nicki Minaj to Launch Limited Edition Lacquers

OPI announces the launch of six new limited edition shades inspired by hip hop sensation Nicki Minaj, including a purple Shatter!  Inspired by Minaj’s unique style, love of bright colors, and her debut album Pink Friday, the Nicki Minaj by OPI promotion will feature an array of bold hues, from neon lime green to pink.

“OPI is so excited to work with Nicki in releasing these six new nail lacquers,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Nicki has taken the hip hop world by storm, but her music is only part of the equation. She’s also become a fashion inspiration, noted for her daring costumes and hair color both on and off the stage.”

Nicki’s eclectic look made including a new hue in OPI’s bestselling Shatter coat a must for this collaboration. The purple Super Bass Shatter (a record-setting purple that “shatters” before your eyes) is inspired by graffiti art and works when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Super Bass Shatter from matte to glossy in seconds.

The line features five nail lacquers in addition to Super Bass Shatter, ranging from fantastic pink, rainbow confetti glitter and charcoal sparkle hues to two green shades in lime and teal

  1. I don't manage to get super excited tbh. The Purple shatter looks like the one China Glaze did this year, the dark grey glitter is of the same family as CG Haunting and Tinsel Town and the three creams are really not my kind of colours (and I'm pretty sure they already have very close cousins in former OPI Collections). Eventually I might look at the swatches for Save Me with some interest but that's all. I'm getting more and more hard to please and my banker is happy about that!!!

  2. @Fairy Lelie You're so much more reasonable than I am!

  3. I think these polishes are a good match for Nicki Minaj and I like them all (although Fly less so). I think I'll need to see swatches before purchasing anything... currently trying to pare down my ridiculous polish collection, haha!

  4. i agree with you, the first 3 look hott! the last 3 look like similar colors that opi already has as well as similar colors in other brands.

  5. I actually really like the colors. I don't have many creams, so they would be nice additions to my collection. I especially like the pink and the green, even though I might have a dupe to it but I'm not sure. I also really like Metallic 4 Life and Save Me. Swatches will make up my mind for sure though.

  6. I was really excited when I saw the promo photos. I thought pink friday was going to be a holo! But now it looks like a pink creme. :( I was planning on getting every single one but now.... ehhh, maybe. Metal for Life is gorgeous though.

  7. As much as I like Nicki, I think 'Save Me' will be the only one going into my cart.

  8. I also thought that one of them was going to be a holo based on the promo pictures, but I'm still looking forward to this collection, especially Metallic 4 Life and Save Me!

  10. All pretty polishes but I feel like I've seen them before, already own them, got them for cheaper, etc!

  11. For some reason this is reminding me of the O.P.I. Shrek collection.

  12. Ahhh I got all excited until I saw the colors. I have LA purple shatter from Hot Topic (cheap!), Nubar's Knights Armor, too many OPI glitters to count lol, and the 3 colors look like Zoya's mod mattes, only, not mattes.

    Ah well.

  15. These looked so much better in the promo pictures! I'm just curious about "save me." The rest seem way too similar to other shades...
