Bobbi Brown Desert Twilight for Fall 2012

The minute I saw that Bobbi Brown's Fall collection included nail polish, I knew I'd to have see them for myself. Of course, for a nail polish addict blogger, that actually means buying them ^_^

Turquoise is, as its name suggests, a beautiful medium turquoise creme. It's a really beautiful shade, just not so original. I don't think a have a dead on dupe in my collection, it's a tad greener than A England Galahad and also lighter than Dior Nirvana, I could probably go on but it seemed pointless. If you have special requests, please leave them in the comments ;-) Formula was really nice, rather sheer on the first coat, it reached full opacity and a high shine with two.

Twilight, or as I've also seen, Twilight Shimmer, is totally unique in my collection and definitely a shade I wasn't completely convinced about in the bottle. But on the nail, I love love love it! I'm a dark polish lover, pretty much sold on all vampy shimmers but this one's a stunner! A very cool toned, dark brownish-purple base infused with silver shimmer that also contains tiny specks of red and green, very complex and mysterious at the same time. Formula was really nice and much more opaque than Turquoise. This is two coats with topcoat.

Overall :
I'm really happy that Bobbi Brown chose not to include pinks or reds in this collection but colors that actually match the eye products. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase and can't wait to see more nail polishes from them!

Have you picked any of these? How do you feel about  general make up brands jumping into the nail polish bandwagon?

The Desert Twilight collection is already available online and in beauty counters around the world.
The nail lacquers retail for $18 / £11 / 18€ each for 11 ml / 0.37 fl.oz

  2. I love Twilight. Could you compare Turquoise to OPI Fly and/or Deborah Lippmann On The Beach? The three look very similar. By the way, I love your nails. :)

  3. I like Turquoise, but I don't wear shades like that often. I picked up Twilight and was very impressed. Originally I was afraid it would be similar to a dark vampy purple that the nail polish world has already seen, but it's not like anything else I own.

  4. Immaculate pictures, and I definitvely would prefer Twighlight over the turqoise one. However, I feel swamped by the number of Brands throwing polishes on the market and honestly, I feel that the price is a tad steep for these polishes. I don't mind paying a higher Price for a Dior or Chanel occasionally or a Deborah Lippmann but for Bobbie Brown? I don't see myself going there. Nevertheless, pretty colors.

  9. Beautiful polish and beautiful pixs. I have never had any BB polishes before. I think she now is sold at Sephora's but not in the one that is closest to me which is still 200 miles! I have a ton of turqs but this one is really special. China Glaze Bogie? I have to look up that shade - not ringing a bell with me.

  11. I like Turquoise, but I think it's a little expensive for a color that maybe is not that original and 11ml... Maybe I have to check it in person! I love that make up brands start to release nail polishes, if the quelity is good and the colors original, I won't complain!!
