Diabetes is a chronic disease that arises when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces.
At present, type 1 diabetes cannot be prevented. Type 2 diabetes, however, can be prevented in many cases by maintaining a healthy weight and being physically active. People at high risk can be easily identified through a simple questionnaire to assess risk factors such as age, waist circumference, family history, cardiovascular history and gestational history.
I think it's wonderful to blog for a cause! I hope this brings about more awareness.

Wonderful post. I have two cousins who suffer from diabetes, and it's great that the bloggers are helping raise awareness.

It pleases me no end to see the issue highlighted because it is one serious beee-atch of a disease.

ReplyDeleteI know about this disease. My granny hardly suffers from diabetes; if she gets any wound then it will take so long to get cured. It is very important to have a good diet plan.
