How To Smooth Out Frosts in 2 easy steps?

Hi guys!
How was your day? I finally went polish shopping today! I got lots of pretties and a few articles in mind, I can't wait to show them to you!

Today I have a post I've been meaning to post for ages... But when I swatched the OPI Major League Baseball collection a few days ago, I knew it was high time to finally write it down.

How to get rid of brushstrokes in shimmers, especially frosts, and completely smooth them out?!

If you're anything like me, you probably do everything in your power to even out frosts or probably just avoid them altogether...
But there's a very simple way to obtain a completely smooth, perfect finish and add dimension at the same time :

  • step 1 : add a layer of matte topcoat on top of your frost polish
  • step 2 : seal your manicure with regular topcoat for a shinny, brushstroke-free finish!

I've actually shared this tip several times in my reviews throughout the years but some of you might have missed it. Truth be told, I have no idea what made me try matte topcoat over a frost in the first place but it works! No... Not only does it work but your "fugly" frost will then become such so beautiful that you won't believe your own eyes. I know I was stunned the first time!

To illustrate this tip, I've decided to put the 3 OPI MLB frost to the test, Orange You Going to the Game, Right Off the Bat and 7th Inning Strrretch, with before an after pictures. The difference is so obvious that I don't think you'll be needing captions ^_^
(warning : this post is picture heavy!)

Featuting : the OPI Matte Topcoat in the leading role!

Still not convinced? Here are some side by side pics :

I can't guarantee that it works on all of the frosts out there but it has worked on absolutely all of those I've tried, sometimes instantly, sometimes after a minute or so, but it has always worked for me.

So what do you think? Pretty amazing for such a simple tip, no?
