China Glaze Holiday Joy 2012 Collection part I : the cremes & shimmers

This Holiday China Glaze is releasing its Holiday Joy collection and be warned, you'd better love red and glitters!

This time, I've decided to cut the review in two : first up today is the cremes and shimmers and hopefully tomorrow, the glitters (7 of them!).

With Love
Fire red creme with a slight orange tint. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Red Satin
Medium blue based jelly/creme red. 3 coats plus topcoat.

Cranberry Splash
Metallic cardinal red shimmer. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Merry Berry
Dark berry red creme. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Blue Bells Ring
Medium blue metallic/foil. 2 coats no topcoat.

Overall :
Formula was really nice on all of these. The cremes all applied smoothly and evenly in 2 coats while Red Satin, jelly-creme hybrid, needed 3 and Blue Bells Ring almost perfectly opaque with one.
I love how bright With Love looks and of course I couldn't pass on Blue Bells Ring! The others are also beautiful just maybe not so original but considering the quality of China Glaze products, you will get your money's worth.

The China Glaze® Holiday Joy collection is already available in salons and beauty supply stores nationwide in displays, open stock as well as numerous gift sets (please refer to my previous post for the entire gift sets range)

So, what do you think girls? Did you get any of these yet or are you all over the glitters?

  3. They are definitely pretty and I agree it's always money well spent with China Glaze quality...but it's sooooo hard to justify more reds! That's why I liked Essie's winter collection so much. Beautiful swatches, as always!

  4. I'm holding out for Part 2 of your post, Sam. These cremes may actually improve by association with the glitters. Right now, I agree...they're kinda Been There, Done That.

    Great swatches.

  8. The colors are definitely very fitting for the holidays and I sorta want Blue Bell Rings, but overall I agree that they're not that original. Sort of hard to be original when there's SO many polishes out there nowadays.

  11. I never wear red, so this part of the collection is not for me! Great collection if you love reds and you don't have so many... anyway, your pics are always beautiful to see!!!

  12. I have a zillion reds so not picking any of these up. I think (maybe) I have reached my red saturation point pretty much after maybe 25 yrs of em in my collection. I pass over 'em unless it's stellar formula and then I try to part with one I don't wear so much out of my stash. I did pick up the blue here at a weak moment - had my birthday discount to use and needed to get up to the $20 to get the $10 off. I thought the blue would be a total waste but it's kind of nice - it has more silver in it than others I have and in a different way than just a silver shift or shimmer. It will be nice for a base and some layering over it I think.
